Gillian Cooper

Gillian Cooper is a locally based artist who uses textiles as a medium.  Recent work has included an installation of quilted sculptures entitled 'Shelter' and a series of knitted and felted hangings, 'Vigilance', which was included in the National Museums of Scotland touring exhibition, 'The Cutting Edge'.  Her work for this exhibition relates to the falseness of our natural environment; how people have intervened and altered even areas thought of as wilderness.  Gillian's work for this exhibition has been supported by Stirling and District Visual Arts Forum.
